Reed shown with Junior handler Carrie Gleason at Detroit Kennel Club. Carrie handled Reed to Veterans 10+ First Place and showed her in breed competition. Reed is 12 1/2 years old! The entry was supported by the American Chesapeake Club.

Reed has been a very interesting dog to own, train, handle and compete with. She has won many various awards in Obedience, is a Best of Breed winner and placed in the Veterans Group. Reed achieved all but 3 of her titles before she was 30 months old!

She has been a Top 10 Obedience competitor and won the CH Eastern Waters Betsy Ross CD trophy donated to the American Chesapeake Club by Betsy and Rupe Humer. She earned her Utility title with style and grace earning back to back 1st places at Livonia Kennel Club! Earning her UD with these 1st placements has never been accomplished by any Chesapeake in the history of the breed that I am aware of. Her enthusiastic competitive nature has awarded her High Scoring Chesapeake at 8 Supported entries in Michigan, Ohio & Canada (Boosters and Specialties) and placements at Supported and Specialties. 'Reed' finished her Canadian Obedience competition by becoming the Number 3 Obedience Chesapeake in 2000! Reed has garnered some UDX points and had been invited to the National Obedience Invitational.

Reed finished her Championship going Best of Winners and picked up a  4 point major the day after the National Specialty in Kentucky. She earned her Canadian Championship with Best of Winners the weekend of the Canadian Specialty at a Booster by winning Best of Breed over 2 top Specials.

Reed earned her final Senior Hunt pass with nearly a perfect score. Reed has also won and placed in several Hunting classes at Supported entries & Specialties.

Reed produced ACC National Specialty (MI-2003) Winners Bitch CH Irish's Mystical Maiden and when she was bred to Jane Papplers CH Redlions Short Fuse she produced ACC National Specialty (MA-2006) Winners Dog CH* Northwyns Whispering Reflection JH who was also the CBRCC National Specialty Best of Winners, Winners Dog and Best Bred-by Exhibitor (CAN-2009). Reed has produced multiple specialty, supported entry BB, BOS, class winners and placements, Junior & Senior Hunters, Canadian Champion, obedience titled dogs AND a homebred ACC NSS JAM (MA-2008) who finished number 2 Chesapeake in 2009!

2006-March-ACC Supported entry at Detroit Kennel Club, Reed made the cut in Best of Breed competition at 10 years of age under Mrs Annie Clark.

2007-March-Veteran First Place at the ACC Supported entry in Detroit for Reed from the 9+ class!

2008-September-ACC National Specialty Veteran 10+ 2nd place-class of 10! Fitchburg, MA!

2009-March-Detroit KC Reed places 1st in the 10+ Veterans Class handled by Junior handler Carrie and shown in breed competition by Carrie. Thank you Carrie!

2009-June-Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club of Canada National Specialty Best of Opposite Sex from Veteran 9+ Class. Handled by friend Morgan in breed competition. Thank you Morgan!

2009-September-ACC Supported Kenosha KC (WI) Best of Opposite Sex from Veteran Class 7 & Over!

Reed is now gone, but watch for her son Fisher
and her Northwyn grandchildren to carry on her legacy.
